Het BeLUG smoelenboek project, waarin we elke keer een ander lid trachten voor te stellen, draait leuk op het moment, en recentelijk kreeg ik het volgende in de mailbox:

Wat is je interesse in Lego?

What is your interest in Lego?

Zelf ontwerpen en bouwen.  Ik sta bekend als de 'sculpturen' man omdat ik allerlei 3D beelden bouw van bekende figuren.
De bedoeling is om dit zoveel mogelijk te doen met enkel basic bricks en plates.
Dus bijgevolg 'verzamel' ik bricks en plates, en liefst in speciale kleuren.

Design and build myself.  I`m known as the `sculptures` guy because I build all kinds of 3D statues of known characters.

The idea is to do this as much as possible with only basic bricks and plates.

As a result, I 'collect' bricks and plates, and preferably in special colours.

Wat zijn je favoriete thema`s geweest over de jaren heen?

Which have been your favorite theme`s over the years?

Het begon met Fabuland, daarna is het technic geworden (periode eind jaren '80 begin jaren 90, met studded technic bricks zoals het hoort!)
Sinds ik uit de dark ages terug ben is het creator geworden als je dat een thema kan noemen, vooral omwille vd bruikbare onderdelen.

It started with Fabuland, after that it became technic (the period near the end of the 80s, beginning of the 90s, with studded Technic bricks as it should be!)

Since I returned from the dark ages, it has become Creator if you could call that a theme, due to the large number of usefull parts.

Wat was je eerste Lego set?
What was your first Lego set?

Ergens begin jaren 80.
Staat hier nog altijd op de kast <3 en ik gebruik mijn 'lisa lammeke' beeld ook als avatar op het forum.

Somewhere in the beginning of the 80s.

It`s still somewhere on my cabinet here, and I use my `Lisa Lamb` as an avatar on the forum as well.

Heb je recentelijk nog toffe dingen aangeschaft?

Did you buy some nice things recently?

De laatste modular.  Dat is de enige reeks die ik al vanaf het begin ('before it was cool' :) ) blijf kopen.

The latest modular.  That is the only theme I have been buying from the beginning ('before it was cool' :) )

Waar ben je uitzonderlijk trots op in je collectie?
Is there something you`re really proud off in your collection?

Mijn over de jaren heen verzamelde collectie bricks & plates in zeldzame kleuren waarvan sommigen zelfs niet meer geproduceerd woden. 
Ik vind het leuker om hiermee te bouwen dan met bvb dof grijs
Ik maak zelfs bewust kleurrijke figuren om ze te kunnen gebruiken (Kabouter plop bvb, of de frozen prinsessen)

My collection of bricks and plates I`ve put together over the years, in rare colours, some of which aren`t produced anymore.

I prefer building with these over for example dull grey.

I choose my characters to build towards this end so I can use them (Kabouter Plop for example, or the princesses from Frozen).

En uiteraard mijn collectie beelden.  Ik ga er geen favoriet uitkiezen, maar Mickey Mouse is de meest recente (new is always better) dus bij deze:

And of course my collection of statues.  I`m not going to pick a favorite, but Mickey Mouse is the most recent one (new is always better), so with that:

Heb je een `Holy Grail` set?

Do you have a Holy Grail set?

Geen holy grail set.
Wel een holy grail kleur: huidskleurige legoblokken die alleen gemaakt worden voor de legoparken en de modelshops.
Helaas niet voor ons gewone stervelingen beschikbaar buiten enkele verdwaalde stukjes die zowiezo onbetaalbaar zijn.

Not a Holy Grail set, but a holy grail colour: the fleshcoloured Lego bricks which are produced exclusively for the Lego parcs and modelshops.

Unfortunatly, these aren`t available to us mere mortals, and the occassional piece that gets lost is nealry unaffordable.



Wat zijn eventuele bouw- of verzamelplannen voor de nabije en verre toekomst?

What are the plans for the building and collecting in the near and far future?

Ik blijf even bij Disney omdat het zo herkenbaar en populair is: het zal ofwel een Dumbo ofwel een Sneeuw-witje beeld worden want ik ben er nog niet uit welke eerst.

I`m staying with Disney for a while because it is easily recognisable and popular: it`ll either be a Dumbo or a Snow White statue but I haven`t decided yet which one will be first.


Heb je een "Dark Ages" gekend en hoe ben je eruit gekomen?

Did you know a Dark Ages, and how did you get out of it?

Yep, de humaniora - en hogeschool jaren. 
Ik ben eruitgekomen door
1) Set 8455 te kopen.  Ik heb toen zelfs nog getwijfeld want ik vond dat studless eigenlijk maar niks...zo zie je maar, wat als... :)

Yep, the high- and college school years.

I got out of them due to:

1) Buying set 8455.  I was in doubt at the time though, because I wasn`t wild about the studless... so as you can see, what if... :)


2) De ontdekking van Bricklink.  Ineens ging er een wereld van mogelijkheden open en toen was ik weer vertrokken en ben niet meer gestopt.

2) The discovery of Brick Link.  Suddenly a world of possibilities opened and then I got started again, never to look back.
